Once upon a time, two tiny tribes nearly destroyed themselves over the silliest disagreement imaginable: how to crack an egg. 🥄
👉 The Reer Dabaweyne (Big-End Tribe) insisted an egg must always be cracked from the large end.
👉 The Reer Dabayare (Small-End Tribe) believed the small end was the only proper way.
Generations passed. Families were divided. Friendships were broken. Wars were fought. Endless arguments raged. 🔥
All because of an egg.
Yet whenever the eggs were finally opened, they tasted exactly the same.
One day, after a violent storm, a giant 🌪️ was washed ashore. When he discovered the reason behind the tribes’ hatred, he burst into laughter.
“You’ve spent generations fighting over this… while your islands are sinking around you.”
His words silenced everyone.
He reminded them that survival mattered more than pride, that family mattered more than division, and that a shared future was worth far more than winning an argument over an eggshell.
The Lesson
How often do we allow tribalism, political rivalry, personal ego, or old grievances to consume our energy while poverty, unemployment, insecurity, and missed opportunities threaten our future?
For Somalilanders, this story carries an urgent message:

âś… Put Somaliland before clan.
âś… Strengthen peace, justice, and national unity.
✅ Build the prosperous and internationally recognized nation our people deserve. 🌍
The train toward peace, development, and recognition has already left the station.
Let’s all get on the #PeaceTrain.
Our destination should be unity, prosperity, and hope—not endless division.
As the Somali saying goes:
“Reer Somaliland meel barwaaqo leh ayay u guurayaan.”
May we all travel together toward that better future.
